More than 600 local and foreign business representatives were invited to the event. Alexander Grinevich, Deputy Chief Officer in Ecopharm, was also among them.
There were discussed the following problematic issues: currency regulation, the tax on withdrawn capital, updating labour laws, problems with VAT refund, pressure on business from law enforcement agencies, restrictions on cash circulation in the economy, problems of cargo carriage, prevention of smuggling, etc.
The list of issues that concern entrepreneurs has not changed significantly since the previous meeting in the spring of this year, however some progress in fulfilling of the business requirements has been made. In particular, the Law “On Currency and Currency Transactions” was signed, which liberalizes the foreign exchange market; the principle of informing the NBU about the accomplished foreign exchange operations instead of the debt of individual licenses or permits for performing a single foreign exchange transaction by residents and non-residents is being introduced. Also, the possibility of suspending foreign economic activity and introducing individual licensing to violators is cancelled (only the possibility of DFS penalties remains), and currency control will be exercised instead of currency oversight. In addition to this, a draft law for tax on withdrawn capital has been submitted to the parliament.
